I have had the pleasure and privilege of being under Mr Griffiths’ care for 5 years. I was born with hip dysplasia and following deterioration in both hip joints have required two complex primary hip replacements within a four year period; the first replacement was carried out when I was just 39. Upon meeting Mr Griffiths I was instantly reassured of my choice. I was confident and trusted fully that my treatment, immediate recovery and long term rehabilitation were important to him and that I was in very safe hands. As a relatively young person to be undergoing a hip replacement it was somewhat worrying at times, but Mr Griffiths always took the time to explain all the options available to me, ensured my understanding of the procedure and was always reassuring, patient and clear in response to my questions. I have always found Mr Griffiths to be friendly, understanding, good humoured and full of humility, which in combination I believe makes him stand out as an exceptional surgeon. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Griffiths as a surgeon; simply put, he has changed my quality of life profoundly and I cannot thank him enough.

Mr Griffiths has completed two hip re-surfacing operations on me to treat my "knackered by design" arthritis affecting both my hips. From the start Mr Griffiths made everything very clear, explained the risks and potential outcomes which allowed me to make an informed decision. Having this information drastically reduced the pre-operation apprehension and meant I was able to prepare for the post op rehab. Mr Griffiths realised I need to be able to exercise to stay on an even keel and so tailored his post op instructions accordingly. I am now on the road to recovery post the second op and all of the signs are that it will be as good as the first one which was totally game changing for me and got me back on the triathlon start line.

After several years of unsuccessful diagnoses for my mobility difficulties, I was referred to Mr Griffiths. He immediately recognised from recent x-rays that the problem was with my hips, and he took time to explain clearly that the x-rays indicated that both of them had deteriorated to the point of needing urgent replacements.

Mr Griffiths managed to book me into his schedule for both hips to be replaced a month later at The Hampshire Clinic, with a three week interval between the procedures. Each of the operations went very smoothly with Mr Griffiths again taking time before each operation to explain the procedure, afterwards to ensure I was recovering satisfactorily before discharge, and then with subsequent reviews to ensure my recovery continued to be satisfactory. Throughout, I was greatly impressed both with Mr Griffiths approach and surgical expertise as well as the care I received from him and The Hampshire Clinic.

Should I need future orthopaedic attention I wouldn't hesitate to consult Mr Griffiths with complete confidence.
